Why West Michigan?

Have you considered moving, but not sure where to look?  Why not try West Michigan.  Here's why...

1. Affordability.  West Michigan is still one of the best places for work/life balance.

2. Growth.  We continue to grow in numbers while maintaining a small town feel. We have finally broke through the 200k mark for prime working age population.

3. Social Life.  West Michigan is growing leaps and bounds with breweries and social activities.  We are community based, which means we are not recruiting hermits.  We are a hands-on town with lots of ways to socialize and volunteer.

4. Housing.  While our housing costs are going up, we are still affordable based on most other towns with the same demographics in the US.

5.  Coastline.  West Michigan has amazing inland lakes for all activities.  Lake Michigan is our little slice of salt-free ocean life!

6. Outdoors.  There are so many ways to enjoy our area: dune rides, hiking, kayaking, biking, swimming, tubing, dinner cruises, sailing, etc.

7.  Seasons.  Yes!  We have all four seasons in Michigan.  Fall offers color tours, Spring fills the air with floral scents. Summer was made for water play and Winter is a dream for skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling.

WE HAVE IT ALL!

Why and How We Stage

In today’s Technology age, it is so important to present a strong virtual front on each home for sale.  This is a three step process.  First, we ask our seller’s to de-clutter.  This is removing all personal items like photos, keepsakes and anything of high value.  Second, we introduce a bold color. By bringing natural light into the home and adding a pop of red or yellow, it gives the eye something to rest on rather than a blank, tan canvas.  Finally, we hire a professional photographer.  Photographers that focus on homes specifically understand how to take advantage of the natural light, find the best angle and use a wide angle lens to capture the entire room.

A Place for Everyone

It is not often you can go to a restaurant over and over again and be impressed every time by something new.  There is one place in town that has continued to impress me with their dedication to improvement and elite service on every visit.   When they opened in 2016 they were the first bar in town.  It's not easy to open in a place like Jenison, a very religious community, but they proved from the beginning they were ready to take the community's feedback and make changes time and again.  The first week this place opened, it was loud and impossible to hear.  Right away they listened to their customers and added sound panels.  Then the feedback was needing more menu options, so they thoughtfully expanded the menu to what we see today, with out of the box specials that blow my mind every time.  This is not the place to find the one 'go-to' dish.  You need to try everything on the menu at least once!  It's not just the food serv...

Downsizing - Why, How and ...HELP!

Have you considered down-sizing?  We are constantly stressed by the to-do list of cleaning and constant clutter in our homes.  The thought of down-sizing to simplify life may have occurred to you, but just as quickly left do to the overwhelming thought of... BUT HOW!? How do I decide what to keep? How will I store the things I can't part with? How do I live in a smaller space? Many of us grew up in large families with sharing rooms, no air conditioning and very little common space.  Now we live in spacious homes that we can't seem to keep up with, thinking that we've made it! I'm not trying to strike a nerve.  This is how I feel about my own space!  It's great that all my children have their own rooms, but it may be costing me my sanity!  More room also means more stuff.  Our homes can fill up so quickly, we are buried in clutter before we realize what happened. So now what? How do we go about paring down and thinking smaller?...
